My Personal Health Journey
Once upon a time there lived a girl from New Jersey… who took her health into her own hands and made it her life’s work! Believe it or not, I too have struggled with my own health and weight issues. As a young girl I struggled with chronic eczema, and at one point in my life was the “chubby” girl in school. I can recall my mother telling me “you’re just big boned” and secretly feeling terrible on the inside. The first time I was taken to the nutritionist in my hometown, I recall her telling my parents that I would make any necessary changes on my own terms–when I was truly ready. Well, she was right! Luckily, that day came for me still at a young age, when I was fed up with being teased and feeling so incredibly low about my appearance…and how I felt in my own skin. I took charge of my health at age 12, and I fully believe it’s never too late.
Our bodies are fantastic at healing themselves when we provide what it needs to do so. After I became a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist, I realized there were issues with my health still lingering, which led me to seek more holistic therapies to addressing symptoms and ultimately led me to advanced training in functional and integrative nutrition therapy. Through a reignited passion for nutrition and constant curiosity to correct imbalances and nourish self, I improved my skin without harsh medicines like corticosteroids and antibiotics, identified trigger foods for those debilitating migraines, and got rid of the bloating. It is the personal journey and experiences I have with my own clients which have re-affirmed my love to serve those who have a passion for taking charge of their health, finding answers to the heart of their problems, and discovering a life they love!
